
Former Boossa Prison Superintendent Siridath Dhammika has been shot dead in a violent attack at his residence in Thalagaha, Akmeemana, Galle.
According to police reports, the shooting was carried out by two unidentified gunmen who arrived on a motorcycle and opened fire while the victim was at home.
Dhammika, who retired in March last year, had no known threats or reported disputes, and authorities have yet to determine the motive behind the murder.
Police have launched a full-scale investigation into the incident, with efforts underway to track down the assailants and uncover possible underworld links.
