The Ministry of Agriculture has taken steps to conduct a census of animals that damage crops on Saturday, March 15.
As part of the process, farmers have been allocated five minutes to count such animals on their properties using a special form distributed for the census.
According to the form, the animal census will be conducted from 08:00 a.m. to 08:05 a.m. on March 15, 2025.
Previously, the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Lands, and Irrigation disclosed that Rs. 2.4 million had been spent on printing documents related to the census, with each census sheet costing approximately 30 cents.
The ministry further stated that Rs. 2.478 million, including VAT, was spent on printing the census papers, and the Government Printing Department had been instructed to produce around 7 million such documents for distribution.
To ensure the accuracy and efficiency of the animal census, an operations room has been set up within the Agriculture Ministry premises.
