IGP Deshabandu Tennakoon, who was remanded in custody and subsequently suspended, has been transferred to Angunakolapelessa Prison.
Prison sources confirmed that he is currently being held in a general ward within the facility.
Tennakoon, who surrendered to the court on the 19th, was produced before the Matara Magistrate’s Court, which ordered his remand until the 20th.
