A Sri Lanka Air Force training jet crashed in the Wariyapola area earlier today.
According to the Air Force, the aircraft involved was a Chinese-made K-8 training jet. Fortunately, both the pilot and co-pilot managed to eject from the aircraft before the crash and landed safely using parachutes.
Investigations are underway to determine the cause of the crash.
