The Sarvajana Balaya Party has officially announced entrepreneur Hassan Alaldeen as its candidate for Mayor of the Colombo Municipal Council.
The announcement was made on March 21 by party leader MP Dilith Jayaweera during an Iftar function held in Colombo.
Hassan Alaldeen, who previously served as an executive committee member of the Sarvajana Balaya Party and held the position of the party’s official media secretary, is now set to contest for one of the most prominent political positions in Colombo.
The nomination is seen as part of the party’s broader strategy to strengthen its presence and influence in the Colombo Municipal Council.
