The wife of National People’s Power MP Susantha Dodawatte has lodged a complaint with the Inspector General of Police (IGP), accusing the Piliyandala Police of neglecting her complaint regarding the forcible seizure of a Prado jeep.
According to her lawyer, the IGP has instructed the Western Province DIG to proceed with the investigations. The complaint alleges that MP Dodawatte is unlawfully using a Prado jeep belonging to her employer, the MP’s wife.
Furthermore, it was revealed that the MP’s wife has filed a divorce case against him at the Homagama District Court. The case has also named a female MP, known for her advocacy of women’s rights in parliament, as a co-defendant.
The lawyer also claimed that MP Dodawatte has arranged to travel to Britain this weekend, securing a visa through the British Embassy by allegedly presenting himself as a lover to another woman residing in the UK.
