A social media campaign soliciting donations to provide toilet facilities for visitors to the upcoming Dalada Vista event in April has come under scrutiny, with allegations surfacing against a popular YouTube personality.
Reports circulating online suggest that a well-known YouTube actor’s bank account details have been included in the campaign, prompting public suspicion.
However, the Sri Dalada Maligawa has strongly refuted any involvement in such a campaign. In an official statement, the Maligawa emphasized that no third-party organization or individual has been authorized to collect financial contributions or conduct any fundraising activities related to the Dalada Vista.
The Sri Dalada Maligawa’s statement reads:
“⚠️ This advertisement shared via WhatsApp is entirely fraudulent. The Sri Dalada Maligawa and the government provide all necessary facilities for the Sri Dalada Pandana. The Maligawa has not delegated or authorized any individual, group, or organization to conduct fundraising or related organizational activities.”
Despite this clarification, another organization’s advertisement requesting donations for toilet facilities continues to circulate on social media.
