The wife of a musician from a renowned musical group has reportedly left the country after receiving death threats from a politician in the Puttalam area. The alarming situation has raised concerns about the abuse of political power to intimidate and harass individuals.
According to sources, a group of unidentified thugs recently visited the residence of the woman’s parents and inquired about her whereabouts. Despite this intimidating encounter, her parents have not yet filed a complaint with the police.
The woman is also said to have been subjected to another form of violence by the same politician while she was residing in Sri Lanka. The incident, which reportedly occurred in 2023, is alleged to have been suppressed by the politician using his influence and authority.
