President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has stated that while the National People’s Power government is actively engaged in developing the country, the opposition is merely creating distractions.
Speaking at a local government election rally organized by the National People’s Power, the President said the opposition is fearful that successful governance and national development by the current administration will prevent them from returning to power.
He emphasized that his administration remains focused on building a prosperous future for Sri Lanka. As part of this vision, President Dissanayake announced that within the next four years, the government aims to make Sri Lanka the country with the lowest electricity tariffs in the region. Plans are underway to construct new power plants to support this goal and enhance energy affordability and sustainability.
The President reiterated his commitment to prioritizing the nation’s progress, despite attempts by political opponents to undermine the government’s efforts.
