Plantation Industries Minister Samantha Vidyarathna has stated that the current government has succeeded in preventing fraud and waste, and has instead distributed surplus public funds directly to the people.
Speaking at a public meeting held in Haputale, Minister Vidyarathna emphasized that fraud and waste, which previously fueled systemic corruption, are being curbed under the present administration.
He asserted that the significant financial surplus was returned to the people, demonstrating transparency and responsible governance.
The Minister called on the public not to be misled by opposition rhetoric and urged them to support a government that is, in his words, “on a good path.”
He also noted that the government is currently progressing with both the presidency and parliamentary support, and suggested that a victory in the upcoming local government elections would allow the administration to accelerate its development initiatives.
