(COLOMBO) – The son of Sri Lankan businessman is alleged to have intentionally rammed his car into a luxury vehicle driven by his father following a festering family dispute, police said on Friday.
They said the incident took place during the early hours of Thursday morning at Beruwala, a known tourist hot spot some 30 kilometres south of the commercial capital of Colombo.
Both vehicles were extensively damaged in the melee but there were no injuries.The vehicles were subsequently taken into police custody pending further investigations.
Police described the businessman as a wealthy boat owner and said he was living separately following a family dispute with his wife and children.
According to police the enraged son is also alleged to have assaulted his father following a heated argument after the incident.
Both the father and son are to be produced before a local Magistrate later on Friday, a spokesman with the Payagala Police said.
