A fire at a car showroom in a suburb of Rome has destroyed 17 Tesla vehicles, according to Italian fire officials.
Fortunately, no one was inside the showroom at the time, and no injuries were reported.
The Rome Fire Department has launched an investigation into the incident. While the exact cause of the fire remains undetermined, authorities have not ruled out the possibility of arson.
Regional police confirmed that investigators are questioning dealership personnel and will proceed based on the findings.
The incident comes amid a string of vandalism cases targeting Tesla vehicles across Italy in recent weeks. Some areas have also seen anti-Elon Musk and anti-Donald Trump graffiti.
Just a week earlier, another showroom in northern Rome was also set ablaze, destroying 30 cars, including several used Teslas. That fire was initially suspected to have been caused by an electrical fault, though an investigation is ongoing.
In addition to the showroom fires, several Tesla vehicles were damaged in Rome’s Gabbatella area—where Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni grew up—and images of the damage have been widely circulated on social media.
