Several youths were taken in for questioning by police after pasting posters protesting Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Sri Lanka.
The posters, which criticized Modi’s arrival and the agreements signed during his visit, were displayed in various locations ahead of official events.
While the individuals involved were not arrested, police confirmed that the posters had been seized and removed. Authorities also took possession of additional materials intended for distribution.
The protest highlights growing concern among certain groups over regional agreements and diplomatic engagements between Sri Lanka and India.
Further inquiries into the incident are ongoing.
