The Court of Appeal has issued an interim order temporarily halting election-related activities of several local government institutions, including the Colombo Municipal Council (CMC).
This order will remain in effect until May 16, when the court is scheduled to hear a case concerning the rejection of nominations submitted for these local bodies.
