Suspended Inspector General of Police (IGP) Deshabandu Tennakoon was granted bail today by the Matara Magistrate’s Court.
He was released on two sureties of Rs. 1 million each.
Tennakoon had been in remand custody in connection with a shooting incident that occurred on December 31, 2023, in front of a hotel in the Pelena area of Weligama, Matara.
