
Minister Bimal Ratnayake has announced his intention to seek international support or initiate legal proceedings against former President Ranil Wickremesinghe and others implicated in the findings of the Batalanda Commission report.
The minister made this statement during the opening session of the parliamentary debate on the Batalanda Commission report, which commenced today (10). Ratnayake emphasized the importance of holding those responsible accountable and called for broader legal scrutiny based on the commission’s conclusions.
During the session, Parliament also agreed to extend the debate on the report to a second day, which will be scheduled on a future parliamentary sitting day.
Parliament is next scheduled to convene on May 8.
