(COLOMBO) – A Sri Lankan Magistrate on Tuesday ordered a drunken police constable to be remanded after he wrongfully interfered with the proceedings of the court, officials said.
The incident took place at the Point Pedro Magistrate’s Court some 400 kilometres north of the commercial capital Colombo as court hearings began for the day, they said.
The constable was ordered to be remanded in the court’s holding cell until the proceedings were completed for the day.
The constable based in Colombo had appeared at the Point Pedro Magistrate’s Court to help in a case proceedings.
