(COLOMBO) – The power supply has been restored to several parts of Sri Lanka after there was an island-wide outage from 6.00pm on Saturday, a senior official with the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) said.
The outage was owing to a major system failure at the key State-run CEB transmission centres in Biyagama and Kotmale, the official said without elaborating.
“We hope to the restore the full supply to all the affected areas at the very earliest he said”.
