SA vs IND (3rd T20)
India squared the T20 series against South Africa in a resounding manner, claiming a dominating victory in the third and final match by a staggering 106 runs. The triumph came on the back of a memorable century by Suryakumar Yadav and exceptional bowling prowess showcased by the Indian team in the second innings.
Having won the toss, South Africa opted to bowl first, a decision that initially seemed promising as they picked up early wickets. However, they struggled to contain Yashaswi Jaiswal and later found no answers for the onslaught by stand-in skipper Yadav.
Amidst the fall of wickets at one end, Jaiswal held firm, contributing 60 runs before his dismissal. Then entered the stand-in skipper Suryakumar, whose explosive 56-ball century propelled India to a total of 207 for 7.
This imposing total proved insurmountable for South Africa, whose never-say-die spirit appeared to backfire on the night. The Proteas lost their wickets rapidly, getting bowled out for a mere 95 by the end of the 14th over. Kuldeep Yadav dismantled the South African batting lineup, claiming 5 wickets for just 17 runs in a mere 2.5 overs. Suryakumar Yadav’s outstanding performance earned him the Man of the Match award and the Man of the Series award. The trophy was then shared by both countries, with no game left to play.
