Dubai’s celebrated Terrycherry Cricket Club has landed in India with a vibrant squad of 36 budding cricketers, embarking on a developmental journey that blends international exposure with elite coaching. The touring ensemble—comprising four age-group teams (U-10–11, U-11–13, Emerging, and U-15–18)—is set to be rigorously trained at the Padukone–Rahul Dravid Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru.
“The main aim of this overseas tour is to give the boys much-needed exposure to different playing conditions in India,” said CTK Masood, Chief of Terrycherry Club, in an exclusive interview.
Founded in the late 1980s by a passionate group of First-Class and State-level cricketers residing in the UAE, Terrycherry Cricket Club has grown into a respected institution registered under the Dubai Cricket Council (DCC). Its academy arm, headquartered in Dubai, has built strong ties with Indian state associations and the Emirates Cricket Board, nurturing a bridge for young talent to ascend toward district, state, and national arenas.
“At the Centre of Excellence, the boys will train under the guidance of seasoned professionals and international players. The facility’s world-class indoor and outdoor infrastructure is tailored to foster technical precision and athletic growth”, Masood added.
Coach Abdul Naushar emphasized the importance of match practice:
“Students will play long-duration games to build patience and develop their ability to handle diverse match scenarios. It’s not just about scoring runs—it’s about learning to construct innings, strategize, and persevere under pressure.”
“The training regimen also includes High Altitude Conditioning, a scientifically backed technique aimed at enhancing endurance—particularly beneficial for long-format cricket. Coaches Prashant Braggs and Mukesh Pandey note that this specialized approach will help players compete more effectively in endurance-driven settings”, he said.
With a clear mission to produce well-rounded cricketers who are ready for the evolving demands of domestic and international cricket, Terrycherry’s India tour represents more than just a training stint—it’s a strategic, cultural, and sporting investment in the next generation.
