Agriculture Minister K.D. Lal Kantha claims a conspiracy is brewing to overthrow President Anura Kumara Dissanayake’s government as it moves to enforce laws against illegal land grabs and looted public property, vowing swift justice for the people.
Minister of Agriculture K.D. Lal Kantha announced that the government will take decisive steps to resolve the long-standing land issues faced by ordinary citizens, promising that solutions will be implemented without delay.
The Minister acknowledged the prevailing public perception that ministers are involved in corruption, illegal land acquisitions, and looting of public resources, with little to no enforcement of the law against them. He pledged that, for the first time, the government will enforce the law against those who have unlawfully taken public property and land.
Addressing the media, Minister Lal Kantha said that as the government proceeds to hold politicians accountable for looting public wealth and oppressing citizens, a group of these individuals are attempting to unite under the claim that there is a conspiracy to overthrow the administration. He emphasised that these claims are politically motivated and cannot succeed, as the people, Sinhalese, Tamil, and Muslim alike stand firmly behind the leadership of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.
The Minister reiterated that the current administration is committed to delivering justice, restoring public trust, and dismantling the culture of impunity that has plagued governance in the past.
