(Mayland, USA) Despite receiving an anticipated delivery a day after Christmas, an Amazon customer living in Maryland, USA was further shell-shocked to find a box of wires delivered to her doorstep instead of a bean bag that she had ordered as a Christmas gift for her daughter.
The rather disgruntled Amazon customer speaking to The Morning Telegraph said “I placed this order over two months ago and also made several calls enquiring as to why this order is being delayed. On several occasions when the Amazon staff were contacted, they kept on giving me various excuses and at times they even hung up on me. This type of service is totally unacceptable at all when it comes to Amazon.”
The UPS delivered Amazon box of wires
The ordered package eventually was delivered to her doorstep on the 26th of December 2023.
However, the customer was further distraught to find out that instead of her ordered bean bag. a rather huge and heavy box containing ground wires was delivered instead.
“I knew straight away Amazon had screwed up my order. I sent an email addressed to Jeff Bezos himself and lo and behold someone from his office called me. However, I was then informed that they would only make a full refund of my money once they received the box of wires. The UPS delivery guy came back to collect the box of wires and since I had opened the box, he refused to take it back. I had to put all the contents into another box and tape it all by myself and only then did he take it back” the customer went on to say.
“This entire incident has been a nightmare for me and not the type of service you would expect from Jeff Bezos and his company Amazon. And finally, guess what? They tried to offer me a $10 voucher to make up for their lapse in service” the customer concluded.
Meanwhile, several attempts made by The Morning Telegraph to reach out to Amazon staff for a quote proved futile.
