Greetings Hon. Inthisham Marikkar,
Reference underlined trailing mail, thank you for the swift response.
This matter was clarified in a previous correspondence by the Executive Director – SLR.
In case, this remains unclarified, note the following :
i. The appointment as Director, Coaching made on 02 JUNE 2025 was under the old SLR Constitution.
ii. This Constitution became NULL and VOID on 07 JUNE 2025 when the new Constitution of Sri Lanka Rugby was accordingly adopted as per Extra-Ordinary Government Gazette of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka no. 2437/33 dated 22 May 2025, and as per ruling of the Court of Appeal of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka in the Writ Application no. CA (Writ) 438/2024, and registered with Director General of Sports as per letter no. DSD/NSA/COM-01/2025 dated 07 June 2025.
iii. Under the new Constitution, there is no designated post of Director – Coaching. The concurrent and parallel position id Director, High Performance, Sri Lanka Rugby which is the 03rd in line after CEO and Executive Director, SLR.
iv. As a result, to legalize and legitimize the post, the fresh appointment letter was issued, which you are yet to accept.
v. At this juncture, you are holding on to an ILLEGITIMATE AND NULL AND VOID APPOINTMENT LETTER DATED 02 June 2025.
Pse let the WTF, SLR know if further clarification from a President’s Counsel is required.

What should be understood is that, Sri Lanka Rugby is under the scrutiny of Government Auditors and responsible to the Parliamentary Committee on Public Accounts (COPA). Thereby, to safeguard all interests and in your interest in the present and future, the documentation should be in order.
If you want to step down, that is your prerogative.
Please let me know your decision very early to keep World Rugby informed of the final decision of STF, SLR.
