(COLOMBO) – Some 600 plus Sri Lankans have already listed for employment in Israel despite the uncertain conditions in that country, an official with the industry said on Wednesday.
He said that some 600 Sri Lankans had already left for the Jewish State to work on agriculture farms and so on.
This recruitment was done purely by the State operated Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLFEB) according to a Government to Government agreement.
However recruitment for the construction sector in Israel has been handed over to private overseas recruitment agencies but this a matter under consideration owing to the ground situation in that country, a senior official said.
