(COLOMBO) – An Iranian national was arrested on Wednesday along with a haul of narcotics (Kush) at a safe house close to the commercial capital of Colombo, Police said.
They said the man was in the country on an extended visit visa and was operating a drug syndicate that arrived from overseas by mail.
The drug bust was made after a local plumber that attended to a repair the suspect’s rental home tipped-off the local police.
According to investigators the suspect had confided to the plumber on the nature of his business and sought his help to find customers in return for a fee.
Police have also found out that the suspect had distributed the drugs through courier services while carrying out monetary transactions online.
