(COLOMBO) – A Sri Lankan couple was arrested after they are alleged to have killed a beautician and removed her gold necklace at Gonapola a location close to the commercial capital of Colombo, Police said on Thursday.
The suspect woman was known to the victim simply because she was a regular client, the police said.
However, on Thursday the woman had appeared with a male stranger.
As the main door closed behind them the suspect woman pulled out a sharp knife and fatally stabbed the victim before fleeing the scene with the necklace.
The couple was apprehended from grabs taken from security cameras in the area.
