A family’s anguished plea has gone public as Savannah Guthrie appeals for her mother’s safe return, offering payment, proof requests, and hope amid a chilling investigation involving surveillance tampering, a possible ransom demand, and federal intervention.
US television anchor Savannah Guthrie has issued an emotional public plea for the safe return of her mother, saying her family is willing to pay to bring her home. In a video shared on social media, Guthrie appeared alongside her two siblings, directly addressing whoever may be responsible for the disappearance.
“We received your message and we understand,” Guthrie said. “We beg you now to return our mother to us so that we can celebrate with her. This is the only way we will have peace. This is very valuable to us and we will pay.”
Nancy Guthrie vanished from her home in Tucson, Arizona, late last weekend. Authorities believe she was taken against her will. Her disappearance was first noticed when she failed to attend church on Sunday, prompting concern from fellow members.
Investigators say a doorbell camera at her home was disconnected during the early hours of Sunday morning. Around the same time, the mobile application connected to her pacemaker was also disabled. Officials believe these actions may be linked to her disappearance.
The FBI is offering a reward of 50000 dollars for information leading to her return. Authorities have confirmed they are reviewing a message believed to be a ransom demand that was sent to several media outlets. While no suspects or vehicles have been publicly identified, law enforcement says the investigation is ongoing.
Family members have released multiple videos asking for proof that Nancy Guthrie is alive and requesting direct communication. They have also warned that she may be in serious danger without access to her medication.
US President Donald Trump has confirmed he spoke with Savannah Guthrie and offered federal assistance. Despite limited leads, officials say they are operating under the assumption that Nancy Guthrie is still alive and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
