(COLOMBO) – At least four Sri Lankan security force personnel were injured when their parachutes delayed to open during an Independence Day rehearsal held in the commercial capital of Colombo, officials said on Wednesday.
Army Spokesman Major General K.A.N. Rasika Kumara said two paratroopers were forced to land on a high rise building when their parachutes botched.
Initial investigations have also revealed that two paratroopers got entangled owing to strong winds during the jump that borders an open promenade close to the.
The paratroopers from the Sri Lanka Air Force and Army and are currently being treated for shock and minor injuries, Kumara said.
