(COLOMBO) – A Sri Lankan Police Constable was nabbed for allegedly stealing two packs of tealeaves from a supermarket store at Boralesgamuwa in the suburbs of the commercial capital of Colombo, police said on Friday.
The constable was attired in uniform and was nabbed at the exit by private security personnel employed by the supermarket.
Security cameras later confirmed the illegal actions of the policeman who has since been suspended from duties until investigations are completed.
The two tea packs were priced at some Rs. 2,000.
The policeman was attached to a police station in Colombo.
