China has reaffirmed its commitment to support Sri Lanka in achieving debt sustainability, a spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry announced in Beijing. The statement follows recent diplomatic consultations between the two nations.
During a regular press conference, spokesman Lin Jian responded to questions about the 13th round of China-Sri Lanka diplomatic consultations held in the Chinese capital. He emphasized China’s ongoing efforts to aid Sri Lanka’s socioeconomic development.
“China has released a readout on the recent consultations, which you may refer to,” Lin Jian stated. “What I can tell you is that the Chinese side has been providing assistance to Sri Lanka’s socioeconomic development to the best of our capability.”
Lin Jian further expressed China’s readiness to collaborate with other countries and international financial institutions to support Sri Lanka’s efforts toward debt sustainability. “We stand ready to continue to work with relevant countries and international financial institutions to support Sri Lanka’s debt sustainability,” he affirmed.
