Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka — A minor tremor was reported east of Anuradhapura today, causing mild alarm among local residents. The tremor, which was recorded at a magnitude of 3.2 on the Richter scale, occurred in the evening today.
No significant damage or injuries have been reported. However, the tremor was felt in nearby areas, prompting some residents to temporarily evacuate their homes and workplaces as a precaution. The Sri Lanka Geological Survey and Mines Bureau (GSMB) is closely monitoring the situation and has advised residents to remain calm and stay informed through official channels.
Local authorities have been dispatched to assess the impact and ensure the safety of the community. Emergency response teams are on standby, although early reports suggest that the tremor has not caused any major disruptions.
