Dambulla, July 20, 2024 — The Thailand women’s cricket team secured a decisive victory against Malaysia in the 3rd match of Group B in the Asia Cup 2024, held at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium.
After winning the toss, Thailand chose to bat first. The team struggled to build momentum against a disciplined Malaysian bowling attack and managed to post a total of 133 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in their allotted 20 overs.
Chasing a target of 133, Malaysia’s opener, Winifred Duraisingam and Wan Julia, set a solid foundation for their team. Winifred scored 22, while Wan added 52 runs to the scoreboard. The middle-order was not sucess as expected.
Thailand successfully abled defend their score and won by 22 runs.
