The Commission for Investigation of Bribery or Corruption Allegations has issued warning letters to approximately thirty Members of Parliament who have yet to submit their asset liability statements.
Parliamentary sources report that out of the 67 MPs required to file these statements, nearly thirty have failed to do so. According to the Asset Liabilities Act, all MPs must submit their asset declarations to the Speaker by June 30 each year.
Under the new Bribery or Corruption Allegations Commission Act, MPs who do not comply may face fines, imprisonment, or both.
