Dambulla, July 21, 2024 — The Indian women’s cricket team secured a decisive victory against the UAE women’s team in the 5th match of the Women’s Asia Cup held at Dambulla.
UAE won the toss and elected to field first, hoping to capitalize on early morning conditions.
India took advantage of being put to bat first and set a formidable total of 201 for 5 wickets in their allotted 20 overs, maintaining an impressive Net Run Rate (NRR) of 10.05.
At the end of their 20 overs, the UAE women’s team managed to collect only 123 runs for the loss of 7 wickets. Despite some resistance from their middle order, they were unable to chase down the target set by India.
With this win, India strengthens its position in Group A, boosting its chances of advancing to the knockout stages. UAE, on the other hand, will need to reassess and strategize for their upcoming matches to remain competitive in the tournament.
