Colombo — The Port of Colombo has reported an exceptional performance in the first quarter of this year, with income exceeding $50 million, according to KDS Ruwanchandra, Secretary of the Ministry of Ports, Shipping, and Aviation. This milestone underscores the port’s strong growth trajectory and operational success.
During a press conference at the Presidential Media Center, Ruwanchandra detailed the port’s substantial revenue and highlighted ongoing improvements in its operations. The significant revenue increase reflects robust port activity and efficient management.
In addition to the port’s success, Ruwanchandra announced a noteworthy 25% growth in aviation operations compared to 2023. This progress in the aviation sector complements the port’s achievements and illustrates overall advancement in the country’s transport infrastructure.
