The Sri Lanka State Trading (General) Corporation has announced that it will resume importing eggs within the next 10 days. Asiri Walisundara, Chairman of the corporation, confirmed that the procurement process is currently underway.
The move follows a recent Cabinet decision to approve egg imports due to local egg prices surpassing Rs. 50. The plan is to import approximately 30 million eggs per month to address the supply shortage and stabilize prices.
