At a recent campaign rally for Samagi Jana Balawega at Samanala Stadium in Galle, presidential candidate Sajith Premadasa firmly rejected any notion of joining forces with those he accuses of damaging Sri Lanka. Addressing the crowd, Premadasa made it clear that his party is dedicated to its own vision for the country’s future, despite persistent rumors to the contrary.
“The People’s Liberation Front and the President have attempted to spread false rumors about a potential alliance,” Premadasa declared. “They’re paying for fake news on Facebook and various websites to suggest that we are coming together. I want to assure you that Samagi Jana Balavega is set for victory on the 21st, and we are united in our cause.”
He emphasized that his party is committed to its principles and will not align with what he describes as corrupt political entities. “220 lakh people are with the common people,” he said, underscoring his party’s grassroots support. “We will not join forces with those who are destroying the country. The President and the leader of the compass may want to unite, but Samagi Jana Balavega will not be part of any coalition with the so-called gangs that are undermining our nation.”
