The Colombo Magistrate Court was informed today that the police have received instructions from the Attorney General regarding the investigation of 18 suspects, including Wasantha Mudalige and Reverend Galvewa Siridhamma Thero. These individuals are accused of participating in an illegal gathering during recent protests.
The case was brought before Chief Magistrate Thilina Gamage, where Wasantha Mudalige and the other suspects appeared. The Kurunduwatta Police have stated that the investigation files related to this matter have been submitted to the Attorney General’s Department for further advice.
Following the court proceedings, the police indicated that additional legal actions would be determined based on the Attorney General’s guidance. The court has scheduled the next hearing for February 10, as the investigation continues into the alleged actions of the suspects during the protests.
