Dilith Jayaweera, leader of Sarvajana Balaya, stated that his party is ready to assume control of the government in any challenging situation, despite strong opposition calls for a change in leadership. He made this declaration during a rally in Ambalantota.
Jayaweera criticized former President Ranil Wickremesinghe, suggesting that while he claims the need for experienced individuals in parliament, his own actions have led to the decline of his party and others in Sri Lankan politics. He pointed out that Wickremesinghe’s influence has left the political scene fragmented, with the remaining factions aligning with figures like Harini, the primary candidate for his party.
Jayaweera emphasized that Sarvajana Balaya aims to build a political movement that resonates with the people, with plans to unite and strengthen opposition forces. He expressed confidence in the potential of his party to challenge the current government and shift the political dynamics of the country.
