The process of registering new Members of Parliament (MPs) elected to the 10th Parliament will officially commence tomorrow, November 17, 2024. According to the Parliamentary Communications Division, newly elected MPs will be able to complete their registration online starting tomorrow.
In addition to the online registration, two information windows will be set up in Parliament on November 19 and 20 to assist MPs in obtaining the necessary information they require for their parliamentary duties.
A key event in the orientation of the new MPs is a specially organized three-day workshop on parliamentary tradition and procedures. The workshop, scheduled for November 25, 26, and 27, will provide new legislators with essential knowledge about parliamentary affairs, including rules of procedure, legislative processes, and the roles and responsibilities of MPs.
The official gazette announcement regarding these activities is expected to be released today, November 16, 2024.
The new parliamentary session will officially begin on November 21, 2024, with the first meeting set to convene at 10:00 am. This marks the start of the 10th Parliament’s operations and the beginning of the new government’s legislative agenda.
