The Colombo Magistrate’s Court has issued an arrest warrant for newly elected Jaffna District MP Archchuna Ramanathan after he failed to appear for a scheduled court hearing.
The case pertains to a road accident on Baseline Road in 2021, in which MP Ramanathan is accused of involvement. Allegations include not only the accident itself but also an assault on another motorist, resulting in serious injuries.
Due to the MP’s absence in court, the Colombo Magistrate directed the Jaffna Senior Police Authority to enforce the warrant, emphasizing the importance of compliance with judicial procedures.
