Sehansha Lakmal, an 11-year-old prodigy, has set a new world record by creating a giant effigy of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake using 1,200 Rubik’s Cubes. The impressive effigy, measuring 91 inches tall and 68 inches wide, was completed in a remarkable time of 3 hours, 13 minutes, and 7 seconds. This feat has earned Sehansha a place in the Cholan World Records.
The record-setting event took place on December 3, at the Yakkala Ranaviru Garment Swimming Pool Complex, and was jointly organized by the Cholan Book of World Records and the Peoples Helping People Foundation. The event was graced by the presence of Camp Commandant Brigadier M. Duwakkar and Deputy Commandant Brigadier Wasage, who offered their support to the young achiever.
Sehansha’s incredible achievement was formally recognized by officials from the Cholan World Records, including General Secretary Indranath Perera, Vice President Sri Nagavani Raja, and European Country Chairman Francis Jesudasan. Representatives from the Peoples Helping People Foundation were also present to witness the milestone.
In recognition of his accomplishment, Sehansha was awarded a certificate, a gold medal, a commemorative shield, an identity card, and a file by the event organizers and military officials. This achievement marks a significant milestone for Sehansha and highlights his exceptional talent and determination at such a young age.
