Minister Wasantha Samarasinghe claims that the prices of goods in March 2025 have decreased by 20% compared to March 2024. He pointed out that the price of large onions, which was Rs. 400 per kilo in March 2024, has now been reduced to Rs. 180.
Furthermore, the Minister stated that the price of brown sugar has dropped from Rs. 430 to Rs. 285, while the price of canned fish has decreased from Rs. 290 to Rs. 270.
He emphasized that this price reduction has been achieved through Sathosa, lowering the prices of 40 types of goods, resulting in an overall price decrease of 20%.
