The Colombo High Court has postponed the case filed against millionaire businessman Mohamed Ibrahim and two others, who are accused of covering up the Easter terrorist attack in the country, until July 2.
During the hearing, it was revealed that a key witness in the case, a woman who previously worked at Ibrahim’s house, had left the country. The Attorney General’s Department also informed the court that there is a risk of another witness leaving the country as well.
In response, the court ordered a summons to be issued to the witness once again. Additionally, the Criminal Investigation Department was instructed to obtain records related to the witness’s departure from the Immigration and Emigration Department and submit them to the court.
The case has now been postponed to allow time for the necessary investigations and to ensure that all relevant witnesses are available for testimony.
