The world’s tallest statue dedicated to Lionel Messi was recently unveiled in the city of Cutral Co, Argentina.
Standing at an impressive 85 feet (26 meters) tall and weighing 70 tonnes, the massive monument was created by local artist Aldo Beroisa, who spent nearly a year bringing the project to life.
The sculpture depicts the legendary eight-time Ballon d’Or winner and World Cup champion kneeling in his iconic Argentina national team jersey next to the FIFA World Cup trophy, with his right hand raised in celebration. Placed near the highway, the monument has already drawn massive crowds of football fans eager to catch a glimpse of the towering tribute to Argentina’s captain.
