While OnlyFans markets itself as a platform for “authentic relationships” between subscribers and creators, some performers are employing AI chatbots to handle their messaging. These bots are designed to mimic real-time interactions and extract payments from users, often without the subscribers’ knowledge.
AI-Driven Messaging
Agencies managing OnlyFans content creators are increasingly turning to AI tools to handle interactions with subscribers. The U.S.-based NEO Agency, for instance, has developed an AI chatbot named FlirtFlow, which it advertises as capable of creating “authentic connections” by mimicking years of relationship-building expertise.
Despite OnlyFans’ terms of service explicitly prohibiting the use of AI chatbots for messaging, these tools are being used to engage with subscribers. The platform’s terms state that creators cannot use AI chatbots to write or send direct messages. However, the company declined to comment on the growing use of AI for this purpose.

Companies like NEO Agency and Australian startup Botly are at the forefront of this trend. Botly, founded in 2023, offers software that generates responses based on a subscriber’s chat history and questions. For a monthly fee, creators and agencies can use this software to handle a high volume of interactions, with a human required to review or send the AI-generated messages.
NEO Agency’s CEO, Luc Jaris, claims that FlirtFlow has advanced to the point where it can outperform human chatters in many scenarios. He notes that while AI is effective for high-traffic accounts, human chatters are still preferable for more niche interactions involving erotic fantasies or specific desires.

The use of AI chatbots in adult entertainment raises ethical questions about the authenticity of interactions on platforms like OnlyFans. Subscribers pay for a sense of personal connection, but many may not realize that their conversations are with bots rather than the actual content creators.
