Anura Kumara Dissanayake, the presidential candidate of the National People’s Power (NPP), has outlined the party’s vision to transform Sri Lanka into a prosperous nation. Speaking at a public rally in Balangoda, Dissanayake emphasized the NPP’s commitment to rebuilding the country step by step, starting after the presidential election on September 21st.
He explained that the first step towards this transformation is strengthening the relationship between politicians and citizens. The NPP aims to inspire political reform and earn the trust of voters by setting an example of integrity and meritocracy. Dissanayake criticized past governments for being dominated by families and close associates, vowing that under an NPP-led administration, only qualified individuals would be appointed to positions of power, regardless of political or familial connections.
Dissanayake urged the public to support the NPP’s vision of creating a “rich country” where citizens can enjoy a better quality of life, emphasizing the party’s determination to lead Sri Lanka towards prosperity.
