COLOMBO – July 24, 2024 – The Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) will form a broad alliance to contest the upcoming Presidential Election, according to General Secretary MP Ranjith Madduma Bandara. Speaking at a media briefing, Madduma Bandara announced that the agreement to formalize this alliance will be signed on August 8.
He emphasized that the SJB will enter the election as the strongest alliance in Sri Lanka’s political history, comprising MPs from the most powerful parties in Parliament. The alliance, featuring over 35 MPs, will be officially revealed to the public after the signing of the agreement.
