Colombo, Sri Lanka ( October 30, 2024)– The Supreme Court of Sri Lanka has dismissed a Fundamental Rights (FR) petition challenging the candidacy of Ranjan Ramanayake in the 2024 General Election. Ramanayake, a popular actor who transitioned into politics, faced legal scrutiny over his eligibility to contest, but the court has now ruled to dismiss the petition without holding a hearing.
