(COLOMBO) – Two Sri Lankan police officers including a Sub Inspector were nabbed after allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs. 10,000 from an illicit hooch dealer in rural Sri Lanka, police said on Wednesday.
They said the arrest was made following a complaint from the hooch dealer. The suspects had sought the bribe with an assurance that they would allow the hooch dealer to carry out his operations unhindered by police.
The suspects were to be produced before a local Magistrate later on Wednesday.
